Methodology
The system performs deterministic feature extraction and similarity scoring:
- Fingerprint pre-filter on robust audio hashes to narrow the comparison set.
- Melody: pitch tracking, interval sequence extraction, and transposition-invariant sequence alignment.
- Harmony: chroma features, chord estimation, and functional harmony (I, IV, V, vi, etc.) similarity.
- Rhythm: onset detection, tempo estimation, and beat-synchronous pattern comparison.
- Structure: detection of intro/verse/chorus/bridge and alignment of section order and repetition.
Limitations & legal positioning
This report is an analytical summary, not a legal verdict. Common genre clichés (e.g., I–V–vi–IV progressions or stock rhythmic patterns) are down-weighted where possible, but cannot be fully eliminated. Results are reproducible given the same inputs and settings. Final decisions regarding infringement should be made by qualified legal professionals.
